Behind the Camera

Welcome to the blog! I'm Catherine Rhodes, a destination wedding and portrait photographer located out of Columbia Missouri. I've been in the business for a little over 4 years now and I love every minute of it. Since this is a blog, I guess I'm suppose to tell you a little bit about myself, so here it goes:

• Aside from photography, traveling is my other passion in life. I feed off of new adventures and throwing myself into new cultures! And there's always beautiful photos to go along with the ride!

• I have this long time love for music. If I could have been a musician I probably would be in lights singing my heart out to a million fans in venues world wide. But since I was gifted with a voice that only entertains during karaoke, on a good night, I'll stick to photography and let the professionals do the real thing!

• I have a knack for doing daring things. Another family trait I have picked up, thank you Dad. So far I have dove with sharks, jumped off waterfalls and gone para-sailing. Next up, skydiving.

Erika and Jason : The Wedding • Central Missouri Based Destination Wedding Photographer

Erika and Jason’s wedding day was beautiful from beginning to end! Suzanne and I had the wonderful opportunity of photograph this lovely day. With one stunning bride and a wedding party full of energy, the afternoon was full of exciting moments! The day began with their ceremony in downtown Columbia. The ceremony was sweet with all the perfect traditional touches and after the I Dos were said Erika and Jason made their way out the front for their grand exit!

From there we headed out for couple portraits in downtown Columbia. Along the way, we took a little detour into Harpos and Erika and Jason toasted to their first few minutes as husband and wife! Then we headed out to a beautiful field and along with the wedding party snapped a few fun and laid back group photos! As the evening carried on, the reception was a blast! From the wedding party entering to their own music picked out by the Bride and Groom themselves to some hilarious toasts, the night held a beautiful and happy feel throughout the evening!

Congratulations Erika and Jason, your day was absolutely perfect and I wish you both a lifetime of happy moments!
